The view on law and behavior compliance in this project is an ex-ante view, where law seeks to shape future conduct. Such view is focused on what mechanisms play a role in how law comes to shape behavior (behavioral mechanisms) and what interventions (behavioral interventions) can successfully activate such mechanisms.

By assessing existing knowledge about these mechanisms and interventions as well as analyzing whether assumptions in practice align with such scientific evidence, the project hopes to create and correct the right knowledge base for a better functioning of the ex-ante function of law.
